Our featured speaker, Lt. Col. Dudley Dvorak, USAF (Ret.), was the Flight Engineer aboard United Airlines Flight 232 — the DC-10 that crashed in Sioux City, Iowa, in July 1989 after a catastrophic failure that experts believed could never happen.
With no checklist and virtually no way to control the aircraft, the crew relied on skill, teamwork, and split-second decisions to attempt an emergency landing that became one of the most studied aviation events in history.
This is a rare opportunity to hear firsthand from someone who lived through one of aviation’s most dramatic emergencies.
Guests and community members are warmly welcome!
